BTS has 2 more MVs that cross billion views in just 3 days, while BLACKPINK Lisa breaks Taylor Swift’s world record

BTS and BLACKPINK are indeed each other’s biggest “rivals” when it comes to YouTube view records.

On the evening of September 11, BTS received good news when the IDOL MV officially hit 1 billion views on YouTube. Released on August 24, 2018, IDOL took more than 3 years to reach this impressive milestone.

Notably, in just 3 days, BTS has added 2 more MVs to their collection of billion-view MV. Earlier, on September 8, BTS‘s “Fake Love” MV also crossed 1 billion views. Up to now, BTS has had a total of 6 MVs with billions of views including: DNA, Boy With Luv, Dynamite, MIC Drop (Steve Aoki Remix), Fake Love and IDOL.

The fact that 2 MVs released in 2018 simultaneously hit 1 billion views has helped BTS not only surpass BLACKPINK and take over the record but also increase the gap between 2 groups. Before September 8, the first place among Kpop idols owning the most MVs with 1 billion views belonged to both BTS and BLACKPINK. BLACKPINK currently has 4 MVs exceeding 1 billion views including: DDU-DU DDU-DU, Kill This Love, Boombayah, As If It’s Your Last.

BTS and BLACKPINK are truly each other’s biggest “rivals” when it comes to MV views. Moreover, on September 11, Lisa set a world record when her solo debut MV “LALISA” reached 70.3 million views on YouTube. The main dancer of BLACKPINK broke Taylor Swift’s record with ME! MV that previously had 65 million views within the first 24 hours.
