BTS got their first win with ‘Butter’ on music shows

Not letting fans wait too long, the latest song ‘Butter’ has officially brought BTS the first No.1 trophy on weekly music show.

BTS officially made a comeback with the summer blockbuster ‘Butter’ on May 21.  This is a full English song and was released to attack the international market.  However, like ‘Dynamite’, this song, although not promoted in Korea, has continuously achieved explosive achievements on digital music charts.

According to the latest update at 4:30 pm on May 29 (KST), ‘Butter‘ has recorded 122 Perfect All-kills.  Due to the strong digital music record combined with the power of views and support from the public, BTS also quickly got the first No.1 trophy on the music show after only 1 week of release.

In today’s episode (May 29) of Music Core, 3 songs nominated for the No.1 trophy are BTS’s ‘Butter’, NCT Dream’s ‘Hot Sauce’, and Oh My Girl’s ‘Dun Dun Dance’.  As a result, BTS won with an overwhelming score of 8344 points compared to the other 2 competitors (NCT Dream got 5827 points, Oh My Girl got 5214 points).

Specifically, the scoreboard of BTS ‘Butter’ at Music Core today is as follows:

  • Digital music score + album score: 5000 points (BTS does not release albums).
  • MV view score + audience council voting before broadcast (2000 people) + MBC broadcast point: 1901 points.
  • Global Voting Score: 1000 points.
  • Voting via SMS: 433 points.
    Total: 8,344 points

Thus, ‘Butter’ brought home the first No.1 trophy on the music show.  This is the third English song to win a music show trophy, following BTS’s ‘Dynamite’ and Rosé’s ‘On The Ground’.  However ‘Butter’ and ‘Dynamite’ are the only two English songs that do this without any music show promotions.
