BTS will perform jointly with Coldplay at the “2021 American Music Awards” – an American popular music awards ceremony.
The “American Music Awards” side announced on its official SNS on November 17 (local time), “BTS and Coldplay will present a performance at the awards ceremony.” At this awards ceremony, BTS and Coldplay will perform their collaboration song “My Universe” released on September 24.
The reaction is already explosive. It is because Coldplay will be back on stage at the “American Music Awards” for the first time in 6 years since 2015. “My Universe” topped Hot 100, Billboard Global 200, Billboard Global Excl. U.S. and Digital Song Sales on the Billboard chart dated October 9.
Not only “My Universe”, BTS previously announced that they would also be performing “Butter” with rapper Megan Thee Stallion, who featured on a special remix of the song released in August.
BTS has been nominated for 3 awards this year: Artist of the Year, Favorite Pop Duo/Group and Favorite Pop Song. BTS has been on the list of nominees for the “American Music Awards” 4 years in a row from 2018 to 2021. The group won more than one trophy for 3 consecutive years until last year.
The “2021 American Music Awards” will be held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, USA, at 8 p.m. on November 21. It will be broadcast live on ABC. Meanwhile, aside from BTS, this year’s awards ceremony will feature Coldplay, Megan Thee Stallion, Bad Bunny, Olivia Rodrigo, New Kids on the Block and New Edition.
