Breaking: Sam Kim’s father passed away after being shot in an armed robbery, 200 people came to pay tribute
The robbery took place at the restaurant where the singer’s father was the owner.
On January 26th, according to News1, singer Sam Kim’s father passed away due to an armed robbery at the restaurant run by his father in Washington, DC. The armed robber intruded the facility on the night of January 13th (local time) and shot him on his chest. He was transfered to the hospital when the police arrived at the scene. Unfortunately, he could not survive due to the severity of the wound.
The singer’s representative confirmed the news on the afternoon of January 26th with a short notice: “We would be grateful if you could convey your condolences to Sam Kim who lost his father and pray for the deceased. May he rest in peace.”
According to News1, the funeral for Sam Kim’s father was conducted on the night of January 24th (local time) and was attended by 200 Koreans living and working in the US. During the funeral, the singer sang “Don’t Worry” to pay tribute to his father.
Sam Kim is a Korean-American singer-songwriter. He gained popularity after being the runner-up at “K-pop Star 3.” In 2016, Sam Kim made his official debut as a professional singer in the Korean market.
