BLACKPINK’s Jisoo once had a 14-second cameo appearance in a drama that got her more praise than Snowdrop

Before Snowdrop, Jisoo took on cameo roles multiple times.

BLACKPINK’s Jisoo officially lands her first female lead role in Snowdrop, the most controversial drama at the moment. Many netizens might mistakenly think that this is Jisoo’s first acting gig in a drama. However, she actually appeared in 3 dramas and a sitcom produced by YG before. However, in all four projects, Jisoo only had cameo appearances, so Young Ro of Snowdrop marks her first long-term role.

Specifically, Jisoo’s part in Arthdal Chronicles is her most memorable cameo appearance. In the drama, she plays Sae Na Rae – the girlfriend of Sa Ya (Song Joong Ki). The brief 14-second appearance only gives Jisoo a chance to say one line. Her character even ends up getting killed right before she is about to run away with her boyfriend. Fans expect Jisoo to have more scenes, at least in Sa Ya‘s memory but sadly, 14 seconds are all the screen time she gets.

Although it’s only 14 seconds, her scene in Arthdal Chronicles is still considered the highlight of Jisoo‘s acting career. Her expressive eyes and line delivery are considered to be on par with a professional actress. Not to mention her flawless visuals that capture the audience’s hearts. Many netizens claim that compared to her acting in Snowdrop, Jisoo had a better portrayal in Arthdal Chronicles. Excessively wide-eyed expression, lacking intonation, unclear pronunciation, and emotionless dialogue are the biggest problems with Jisoo’s performance in Snowdrop, according to Korean viewers. Perhaps it would be better if she played more minor and supporting roles to practice and improve before taking on the female lead role in Snowdrop.
