BLACKPINK’s Jisoo causes regret but still praised for rejecting the offer to sing “Snowdrop” OST
Jisoo’s decision is regrettable but her reason receives compliments from fans.
On February 6, BLACKPINK’s Jisoo had a voice-only live broadcast to chat with fans. The female idol surprised fans when she revealed that she was asked to sing the OST “FRIEND” for her drama “Snowdrop”. However, Jisoo refused because she thought if her voice came out in the drama, it would distract viewers and they would not be able to concentrate on the drama. Jisoo added that she wanted to leave her character Youngro as Youngro. And the director respected her opinion.
Jisoo also revealed that the 3 other BLACKPINK members all wanted to go to the filming set of “Snowdrop” to support her, but Jisoo felt worried she might get distracted. “The members encouraged me that when I felt comfortable, they would come visit me. But they couldn’t come. Because the filming set was very crowded, I didn’t think I could take care of them”.
Fans regretted hearing Jisoo share about her missing the first opportunity to sing an OST of a drama. However, fans all agreed that this was the right decision. Jisoo was praised for her sophistication, professionalism, and enthusiasm for her first starring drama. If Jisoo sang the OST for the drama on which she plays the female lead, it would have been difficult for viewers to focus on the character.
