BLACKPINK has started the promotion of their 2nd album “BORN PINK” in earnest, receiving explosive responses from global music fans.
On September 5th, YG Entertainment posted a teaser poster for BLACKPINK’s album “BORN PINK” on their official SNS account. In other words, the company’s finally unveiling their “Real weapon” that will continue the heat of pre-release song “Pink Venom”.
The poster shows a mysterious space with silver shutters firmly closed, as well as a floor embroidered in a soft pink color, creating an unusual aura. Here, the “BORN PINK” logo, which exquisitely blends black and pink, is also a point that stimulates curiosity towards the new album concept.
Earlier, YG announced that BLACKPINK has filmed the music video for their title song of the 2nd album, saying: “We will elevate the status of Kpop with a different color that has never been seen before. The title song is a song that will surprise global music fans.”
BLACKPINK has already imprinted their overwhelming presence in the mainstream pop market with their pre-release single “Pink Venom”. In fact, the song recorded No. 1 on the US Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global (Excl. US), No. 22 on the UK Official Chart, and No. 2 on the Spotify Top Song Global Weekly Chart.
The music video for “Pink Venom” also exceeded 90.4 million YouTube views within 24 hours of release, breaking the world record for a female artist. After reaching 100 million views at the fastest speed (29 hours 35 minutes) among Kpop girl groups, the MV went on to surpass 200 million views in 7 days and a half day.
