BLACKPINK music played when the Korean archery team won gold at the Olympics although they requested BTS music?

But then there was a controversial topic also related to this victory. When the athletes win the gold medal, the organizers will play the song that they chooses to congratulate their victory. The Korean women’s archery team said they were surprised when they sent a request to play BTS‘s music but the song played when they won was by BLACKPINK.
The moment the Korean women’s archery team won, the organizer had played BLACKPINK’s song ‘BOOMBAYAH’ at the Yumenoshima Park. At that time, everybody thought that this was the song that the female team requested.
At this Olympics, athletes have received a ticket requesting the song to play if they win the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games before the competition. They have the chance to choose a song to play to congratulate their victory right after the win, not the National Anthem. And in additon, the female archery team asked to play BTS’s song, not BLACKPINK.
During the post-match press conference, the captain of the Korean women’s archery team, Kang Chaeyoung, shared, “We actually asked for BTS’s song but there must have been a mistake. This is why BLACKPINK’s song has sounded. I’m quite not happy about that.’
Earlier on the same day, Kang Chaeyoung had an interview to Korean media and shared, “If we win the gold medal in the individual women’s archery contest on the upcoming 30th, I hope everyone will play ‘Dynamite’.”
The story of the Korean female archery team that asked for BTS music but listened to BLACKPINK’s music also became a hot topic on Korea’s social media. Many people criticized the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Organizing Committee for this confusing mistake when the two artists’ names were completely different. The female team was surprised and disappointed when, at the moment of victory, they couldn’t listen to their idol’s song.
