BLACKPINK Jisoo’s drama poster accused of plagiarising La La Land poster, when will the bad luck end?

The upcoming drama starring Jisoo – Snowdrop’s poster is pointed out by Korean netizens for having many similarities with the Oscar-nominated musical film.

On October 5, the drama “Snowdrop” starring Jung Hae In and BLACKPINK Jisoo released the first poster. This is a project that is eagerly awaited by a large number of international viewers, despite the political controversies. However, soon after Snowdrop’s poster was released, many netizens pointed out the notable similarities with La La Land’s poster.

In both posters, the male and female lead look lovingly at each other as they dance under the lights. The way they lift their arms up is also somewhat similar.  However, there are also comments saying that this pose is very common in posters of the romance genre.

Netizens’ comments:

There’s nothing special about the poster. Jung Hae In and Jisoo are both talented, why did they decide to appear in this drama?

Why does this remind me of La La Land?

It’s obviously similar, this pose on La La Land’s poster is just iconic.

But there are many kinds of dancing poses, putting your hands on the other’s shoulders, on their waist, supporting one’s legs… but in these two posters, both couples lift their arms up and bend their legs.

2 completely different dances, the backgrounds are also different, how can you guys say it’s the same?

This is a common concept in musical posters. La La Land is not the only one.

Set in Seoul in 1987, Snowdrop tells the story of Young Cho (Jisoo) – a young female student who accidentally saves Im Suho (Jung Hae In) – a student of a prestigious university when he suddenly rushes into a women’s university dorm while being injured. Young Cho hides him and takes care of his injury even in the face of danger under close surveillance.
