BLACKPINK 1st full album “The Album” charted No.1 on Oricon Daily Chart

BLACKPINK’s popularity rises as a global fever.

According to YG Entertainment in August 4, BLACKPINK’s 1st full album “The Album” released in Japan has just charted No.1 on Oricon Daily Album Chart. It also charted No.1 on Apple Music’s Top Album Chart in Japan, proving their popularity in this country.

They are so strong in digital. Before the release of the album, “How You Like That” and “Lovesick Girls” also topped the major music charts such as Line Music, AWA and iTunes in Japan.

In October last year, BLACKPINK became the first K-pop girlgroup to become the million seller (based on figures of Hanteo Chart and Gaon Chart) with a total of more than 1.3 million albums were sold for their 1st Full Album “The Album”

They also swept out many charts globally. The Album charted No.1 on iTunes Album Chart in 57 countries, entered the US’s Billboard 200 and charted No.2 on the UK’s Official Chart, breaking the Kpop’s top rankings recorded for girlgroup.

BLACKPINK is going to celebrate the group’s 5th debut anniversary on August 8. On August 4, the movie “BLACKPINK THE MOVIE” will be released in more than 100 countries all around the world to celebrate this day.
