“Black Little Mermaid” shed tears after receiving a note: “Thank you for being an inspiration to brown girls all over the world”
The new “Little Mermaid,” actress Halle Bailey, shed tears when she received a note from a pilot.
Halley Bailey recently uploaded on her Twitter a note she received from a fan who is a Delta Air Lines pilot. This seems to have almost made her cry.
“It’s an honor to have you on board today,” the Delta pilot wrote in her note in the released photo.
In addition, “Thank you for being an inspiration to little brown girls all over the world,” she thanked and described herself as a young Latino female pilot.
Bailey also wrote a caption, saying, “This amazing pilot on the plane gave me this beautiful note today” with a tearful face and a red heart emojis.
She also shared the note on her Instagram and expressed her emotion by adding a short caption “real tears.”
Bailey plays Ariel in the upcoming live-action remake of Disney’s animated film “The Little Mermaid”. The film is scheduled to be released on May 26th next year.
In a recent interview with Variety, Bailey shared, “I want the little girl in me and the little girls just like me who are watching to know that they’re special, and that they should be a princess in every single way,” amid controversy regarding the production stage surrounding the black mermaid character.
