Beauty Youtuber Kim Ki-soo supported Song Ji-hyo: “Don’t curse at the stylists, they are busy during awards ceremonies”
Comedian and beauty Youtuber Kim Ki-soo mentioned the controversy over Song Ji-hyo’s short haircut and clothes.
On Dec 7th, Kim Ki-soo uploaded a video titled “Is the coordi her anti? Song Ji-hyo’s short haircut and styling controversy. I’ll put an end to everything with this video” on his Youtube channel. In the video, Kim Ki-soo said, “I think Song Ji-hyo has transformed her image so well. Fans said they were angry for her, but none of that is helpful to Song Ji-hyo.”
He continued that because Song Ji-hyo has clear features which emphasize her T-zone, saying “When you let down your bangs, your eyes stand out. She shouldn’t let her bang down, like a full bang,” adding that the short haircut on SBS “Running Man” wasn’t the best version.
Regarding Song Ji-hyo’s short bob, Kim Ki-soo praised her, saying, “Song Ji-hyo has an egg-shaped face. The bottom part of her face is so pretty, and her mouth doesn’t protrude, which means she looks good with both long hair and short hair.” However, he also pointed out that, “But her hair bang does get me a bit. It would have been prettier if she has had a see-through bang. The bang was cut too short.”
Kim Ki-soo also voiced in defense of the stylist in the controversy over Song Ji-hyo’s styling at the 2021 Asia Artist Awards (2021 AAA), which was held on December 2nd. Talking from the perspective of a celebrity, Kim Ki-soo emphasized, “If you attend an awards ceremony, your stylists cannot be next to you all the time. They would be busy all the time until the awards ceremony begins”, adding, “A celebrity won’t sit still like a prince or princess and just go up the stage to get an award. Countless people got torn hem on their outfits.”
Then, Kim Ki-soo said, “The key point is whether it gets caught in the press photos or not, and Song Ji-hyo’s outfit got caught, unfortunately. Don’t say such things to the stylists because they were too busy at that time”, expressing his opinion that there was nothing to criticize. Regarding the black coat that Song Ji-hyo wore at the awards ceremony, Kim Ki-soo said, “They chose a great coat. It didn’t give the gentle and lovely vibe that we’ve seen on Song Ji-hyo before, but a more modern and chic one. Looking at the outfit, I thought, ‘Song Ji-hyo did try to change her image’. She changed her image so well. Doesn’t it look like a Parisian style?”
Earlier, after Song Ji-hyo appeared with a short haircut, some fans protested by releasing a statement, saying, “We demand an improvement of Song Ji-hyo’s styling (coordi/hair/makeup)”. In addition, Song Ji-hyo’s appearance in a torn coat at the 2021 AAA also ignited the styling controversy once again, making fans voice out their criticism.
