YG’s new girl group BABYMONSTER excited global music fans with their explosive hip-hop energy in the new performance video.
YG Entertainment uploaded “BABYMONSTER – DANCE PERFORMANCE VIDEO (Jenny from the Block)” on their official Youtube channel on May 26th. The seven-member group showcases their unique charm and proves their identity as YG’s next generaion with “YG’s representative hip-hop style”.
In the video, BABYMONSTER members appeared in street fashion with matching caps, giving off a completely different charisma from what they had shown before. They confidently displayed their free-spirited swag and heated the atmosphere with their cool yet synchronized dance moves.
Above all, despite being rookies who have not officially debuted yet, the girls exuded their confidence, overflowing energy, and relaxed attitudes when enjoying music and performing. Their powerful and sharp choreography was presented flawlessly without any errors. BABYMONSTER demonstrated not only their strong teamwork but also infinite potential across various genres. They also solidified their presence as a “monster rookie” armed with overwhelming talents.
This dance performance was created by world-renowned choreographer Kiel Tutin specifically for BABYMONSTER. BABYMONSTER’s high-level skills, which have been trained by YG for a long time, combined with the exceptionally high-quality choreography aroused enthusiastic responses from K-pop fans around the world.
BABYMONSTER is a new girl group project launched by YG seven years after BLACKPINK’s debut. The group consists of multinational members, including Koreans (Ahyeon & Haram), Thais (Pharita & Chiquita) and Japanese (Ruka & Asa). They are all expected to be “all-rounder” idols with amazing skills in vocal, dance, and rap as well as outstanding visuals.
Ahead of their debut, BABYMONSTER already earned remarkable achievements in the history of K-pop girl groups by surpassing 2 million subscribers on their YouTube channel within only 129 days. The cumulative views of their teaser content have exceeded 400 million. Their pre-debut song “DREAM” topped the Billboard ‘Hot Trending Songs’ chart, heralding the group’s explosive popularity after debut. BABYMONSTER is scheduled to make their official debut this fall.
