On the morning of August 27, B.I’s trial revolving around drug-related crimes that he was denounced at the end of 2019 was just held at the Seoul Central District Court.
Accordingly, after considering, the prosecutor’s office requested a 3-year prison sentence with a fine of 1.5 million Won for the former iKON member.
In today’s trial, B.I directly appeared as a defendant. Here, the male idol and his representative lawyer admitted to all the crimes brought by the prosecutor and said they were deeply reflecting on their past actions. “I admit to smoking and buying drugs,” B.I replied. The defense for the former leader of iKON hopes to receive leniency from the court because the client first committed a crime at a young age. In addition, the male idol has always actively served the community or contributed to society over the past time.
“I have made mistake, using my youth and shallow thinking as an excuse to lose so much. I feel sorry for my parents and sister. I used to not want to live, but now I have to reflect on myself. I have, am, and will reflect on my behavior in the future. I want to protect the precious people who were on my side”
Notably, B.I’s father also appeared at the trial. He blamed himself for not being able to properly teach his son as a father and cried for mercy. “I’m sorry. It’s my own fault for not being able to raise a good child,” Star Today reported.
“One day our 16-year-old daughter came home from school and burst into tears because her friends mocked her for having a drug-addicted brother. I beg you, please give me, my poor son and my poor family one more chance,”he said
B.I is said to have constantly bowed during his father’s speech before the judge.
Accordingly, B.I is planning to file an appeal against the sentence that the prosecutor has suggested. It is known that the sentencing hearing is scheduled to be held on September 10 here.
