BTS Suga achieved success with his solo album.‥Million seller on the first day of release

BTS Suga also achieved success as Agust D.

The title song “Haegeum” of “D-DAY”, which Suga released on April 21st under the stage name Agust D, topped the iTunes “Top Songs” chart in 86 countries/regions, including the UK, Germany and France, by 9 AM on April 22nd. The music video for “Haegeum” exceeded 10 million views as of 9 PM on April 22nd, ranking at the top of YouTube’s popularity soaring video chart in many countries/regions.

In addition, “D-DAY” topped the iTunes “Top Albums” chart in 67 countries/regions around the world, including the United States, Canada and Australia, by 9 AM on April 22nd. B-side songs “D-Day”, “HUH?! (feat. j-hope)”, “AMYGDALA”, “SDL”, “People Pt.2 (feat. IU)”, “Polar Night”, “Interlude: Dawn”, “Snooze (feat. Ryuichi Sakamoto, Kim Woo Sung of The Rose)” and “Life Goes On”also ranked high.

According to Hanteo Chart on April 21st, “D-DAY” immediately helped Suga become a “million seller” with 1,072,311 copies sold on the first day of its release. This is a new record for the highest sales volume for a solo artist’s album on the first day of release.

“D-DAY” is an album that melted the message to focus on “me” and “now” in an era overflowing with excessively fast and enormous information. The title track “Haegeum” is a song about unlocking our new potentialities, freeing something previously forbidden.

Meanwhile, Suga will hold the world tour “SUGA | Agust D-DAY TOUR” in the United States, including Belmont Park (April 26th~27th), Newark, Rosemont, Los Angeles and Oakland, as well as Indonesia, Japan, Thailand, Singapore and Seoul.
