B.I aims at a successful comeback while his former CEO Yang Hyun Suk is still on trial for covering his drug case

Netizens expressed displeasure with B.I’s ungrateful move.

On the afternoon of November 18th, B.I held a countdown live to celebrate the release of his global EP “Love or Loved Part.1”. After revealing his current situation and introducing several things, such as his shoes, camcorders, cameras, etc., B.I began to promote his album in earnest.

Regarding the title song “Keep Me Up”, B.I said, “Since the pre-release single ‘BTBT’ received better responses than expected, I was very pressured. I spent 3 days straight without sleep producing the new song. I poured my heart and soul into it”.

He went on explaining all the tracks in his album, saying “‘Middle With You’ is one of the first songs I made in this album, and it sounds cute. However, the song was not easy to sing. It took me a while to practice since it’s different from my singing style. ‘Tangerine’ was written 1.5 years ago. At that time, I was about to sleep but suddenly thought of the lyrics, so I wrote them down and finished the track. While thinking about whether to put it in my second full album or not, I decided to add it to this EP since it suits the concept well. ‘Endless Summer’ expresses a mannerism, and it was produced when I was experiencing a slump. That song was almost buried somewhere in my memory, but I decided to put it in this album because I made it with other producers”.

B.I then showed his determination in making a “successful comeback”. However, the public’s gaze on him is still cold.

B.I debuted as a member of iKON under YG Entertainment but left the group in 2019 due to allegations of purchasing and administrating drugs. According to articles at that time, former idol trainee Han Seo Hee reported B.I’s drug case while being investigated by the police for smoking marijuana with BIG BANG T.O.P. However, YG’s former CEO Yang Hyun Suk threatened Han Seo Hee and asked her to reverse her statement.

In the aftermath of this, the investigation of B.I’s drug allegation was resumed. Eventually, B.I was sentenced to 4 years of probation, and ordered 90 hours of community service, 40 hours of drug treatment lectures as well as a fine of 1.5 million won. In addition, Yang Hyun Suk was also put on trial for threatening charges, and the prosecution recently demanded a sentence of 3 years in prison for him. According to Yang Hyun Suk’s claim, he did not threaten Han Seo Hee but met her only to find out whether B.I took drugs or not. In other words, if B.I had not been investigated for taking drugs, Yang Hyun Suk wouldn’t have been on trial.

While his former CEO is on the verge of being imprisoned, B.I doesn’t care at all. He released albums, confirmed his appearance as an MC for “WET! World EDM Trend”, and even announced the news of his concert. As a result, many netizens still cannot accept B.I’s early comeback and sigh every time he has new activities.
