Ji-min (real name Shin Ji-min, 31), a former member of the girl group AOA, has ended her exclusive contract with her agency.
On Jan 13th, FNC Entertainment announced on its official website, “We would like to inform you that our exclusive contract period with artist Ji-min has ended on January 12, 2022.”
FNC Entertainment said, “We would like to express our gratitude to Ji-min, for her active activities as our singer for the past nine years,” and added, “Although her connection with us has ended, we ask for your warm encouragement and support for Ji-min’s future moves.”
Meanwhile, Jimin revealed her life updates on Instagram for the first time in two years on Jan 8th. At the time, Jimin mentioned several accounts, saying, “Surprise gift for my dear 🎁 out now, link in bio,” and added the hashtag “#happyjiminday.”
Ji-min uploaded the video in which she can be seen walking on the street wearing a hat and a padded jacket. Ji-min’s bright hand waving and playful movement are also captured. Judging by the location tag, the video appears to have been taken in London, England. However, it is not confirmed when the footage was taken. In particular, a sound source was also released, which is presumed to be Ji-min’s voice.
It was the first time in two years that Ji-min disclosed such an update. Ji-min withdrew from her group in July 2020 due to the so-called “AOA incident” caused by the revelation of former AOA member Kwon Min-ah and had stopped working in the entertainment industry.
