The Red Sleeve – the new movie that aired on the same day as Song Hye Kyo’s drama is receiving many positive responses.

The Red Sleeve is a drama from MBC, just released on the evening of November 12, in the same time frame as Now, We Are Breaking Up by Song Hye Kyo.  Even so, The Red Sleeve still got off to a good start with an impressive rating of 5.7% (episode 1 of Now, We Are Breaking Up had a rating of 6.4%).

The Red Sleeve

The Red Sleeve is a mythology and ancient history novel based on the novel of the same name by writer Kang Mi Kang. Set in the 18th century, “The Red Sleeve” depicts a love story between King Jeongjo and royal concubine Uibin Sung. Junho (2PM) plays a king who prioritizes his country, and Lee Se Young plays a palace maid who enjoys a free life. How can two people of such disparate social statuses fall in love?

The first episode, which aired on November 12 in the evening, primarily introduces the drama’s background and the main characters. This opening, however, is greatly appreciated when the audience now lavishes praise on The Red Sleeve. The epic historical backdrop, historically accurate costumes, and makeup for actors are all major selling points for The Red Sleeve. Furthermore, the chemistry between the two main actors was highly praised.
