After Seo Ye Ji’s dropping out of “Island”, the new cast, including Kim Nam Gil, Lee Da Hee, Cha Eun Woo, and Sung Joon, has been confirmed

After actress Seo Ye Ji dropped out of the new drama “Island (directed by Bae Jong), the new cast lineup has recently been confirmed.

On September 28, the production team of “Island” announced, “By confirming the appearance of these actors in “Island”, we will open the prelude to a unique Korean fantasy hero movie that you have never seen anywhere else.”

Island” is a fantasy action movie based on a Naver Webtoon with the same name. It depicts the sad but strange journey of the characters who are destined to fight against evil on Jeju island.

The confirmed cast lineup includes Kim Nam Gil, Lee Da Hae, Cha Eun Woo, and Sung Joon.

Kim Nam Gil, who has proved his unlimited acting spectrum on the small screen, including dramas “The Fiery Priest” and “Live Up To Your Name”, will play the role of Ban, whose destiny is to protect the world even when abandoning himself from the society.

Lee Da Hee transforms into Won Mi Ho, the third generation chaebol who lives an unwanted life in Jeju Island without recognizing her fate. The actress has been loved for her appearance in “Luca: The Beginning”, “Search WWW”, and Beauty Inside”. Movie fans are drawing attention to the teamwork of Lee Dae Hee and Kim Nam Gil in this new movie, “Island”.

Cha Eun Woo will take over the role of John, a Catholic exorcist. John’s role in this team is really important as his job is to call and purify evil forces. However, this character has a dark past. Many people are waiting to see how Cha Eun Woo will change himself with a different character from his previous roles in “True Beauty”, “Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung”, and “My ID is Gangnam Beauty”.

Meanwhile, Sung Joon will play the role of Goong Tan, who was raised as an executor to defeat evils with Ban (Kim Nam Gil). After his performances in “The Grotesque Mansion”, “The Villainess”, and drama “High Society”, the viewers are curious about how he will express the subtle psychological changes of Goong Tan.

Island” will begin filming in October and is aiming to be aired in the first half of next year.
