After introducing Thailand in her MV’ LALISA’, BLACKPINK Lisa provides help for the culture and education of her hometown

BLACKPINK Lisa will participate in a campaign to improve Thailand’s cultural and educational environment.

On September 14, BLACKPINK Lisa opened a regular fund on Naver Happy Bean to help build a complex cultural space at a school in her hometown – Buriram, Thailand. Lisa’s company, YG Entertainment, together with Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange, and Korean Habitat, cooperated to aimed at giving strength to the overseas social contribution project.

In this project, a complex cultural space will be built at Nonsuwan Pitayakom School in Buriram, Thailand (Lisa’s hometown). Korean Habitat helps with renovating the school, while the Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange plans to provide multimedia equipment, such as PCs and beam projectors, and support the opening of a KPOP Dance Academy in which the students will learn with local experts. Although traditional dance lessons were usually conducted after school, Nonsuwan Pitayakom School is reported to have suffered from difficulty in conducting classes due to their underdevelopment.

Lisa expressed her feelings, “I hope that children would be able to play around and dream freely in a better educational environment. I want to support the precious dreams of many children”. Donations collected through this campaign will be used to improve the educational environment not only in Lisa’s hometown Thailand but also in other developing countries.

On September 10, the traditional Thai crafts and the Phanom Rung Historical Park in Lisa’s hometown, Buriram Province, were featured in Lisa’s MV for her 1st solo song, ‘LALISA’. This MV also set a new record for solo artists as it gathered 73.6 million views in the first 24 hours of its release on Youtube. As a result, Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha praised Lisa for her promotion of Thailand.
