aespa to prove their presence with “Girls” and expand their scope from Kwangya to the global market

Girl group aespa is expanding its worldview globally beyond Kwangya.

aespa is gearing up for a successful comeback by actively promoting their second mini-album “Girls not only in Korea but also in the U.S. ahead of its official release on July 8th. SM Entertainment has also unveiled aespa’s activities and future plans, drawing keen attention from global fans.

#From “Next Level” to another level… aespa heralds global activities

Earlier in April, aespa performed their hit songs “Black Mamba”, “Next Level” and “Savage” at Coachella, the largest outdoor music festival in the U.S. Also, they successfully presented live performances of b-side tracks, such as “aenergy” and “Life’s Too Short”, for the first time in the U.S.

As a result, the girls caught the eyes of major foreign media, such as Rolling Stone, The FADER, HYPEBAE, NME, etc. aespa announced their full-scale entry into the global market by forming a global partnership with the world-famous music label Warner Records and was selected as n artist for Apple Music’s monthly campaign ‘Up Next’ in June, proving their global popularity and reputation. In particular, their first showcase “aespa Showcase SYNK in LA” held in two days (June 26 – 27) drew enthusiastic responses from over 10,000 local audiences. Moreover, this K-pop girl group will appear in the summer concert series of ABC Channel’s representative morning show “Good Morning America” for the first time on July 8th and announce a spectacular beginning of their comeback.

aespa attended the opening section of the 2022 High Level Political Forum for sustainable development (HLPF) held at 9 a.m on July 5th (local time) at the UN General Assembly Hall in New York. They delivered a speech under the theme of “Next Generation to the Next Level” and conveyed the message of encouraging interest and practice for sustainable development goals.

As a girl group created with a metaverse worldview that consists of “ae” members representing the MZ Generation, aespa received explosive reviews as they emphasized the importance of sustainable development goals, pointing out that the infinite possibilities of metaverse can only exist when sustainable development in the real world is maintained.

In particular, Vice President of the Economic and Social Council Suriya Chindawongse, who is in charge of sustainable development of the UN, made headlines as he explained the theme of the forum this time by giving a meaningful introduction using initials in the name ‘aespa’ – All (voices should be heard)’, ‘Equity and empowerment’, ‘Sustainability and synergy’, ‘Planet and people’ and ‘Architecture’.

After releasing “Girls”, aespa will hold a fanmeeting called “MY SYNK. aespa” in Korea on July 7th and continue to meet fans through their Japanese showcase “aespa JAPAN PREMIUM SHOWCASE 2022 ~SYNK~” on the 6th and 7th of August. 

In addition, they will be more active in promoting this album by appearing in various Youtube content as well as music broadcasts, entertainment shows, and radio programs.
