Aespa’s achievement with ‘Savage’ is considered a miracle for a rookie group
At precisely 6 pm on October 5 (KST), aespa officially made a comeback with the first mini-album titled Savage. The MV for the title song Savage, following Black Mamba and Next Level, tells the story of the worldview of aespa. The songs on this album are also highly appreciated by the public.
Despite this is just a debut album, aespa’s accomplishments are very commendable. In addition to the 400,000 pre-orders, the group’s first-day album sales totaled 147,195 copies. On the first day, Savage becomes the best-selling debut album by a girl group. Aespa’s sales are 100,000 copies higher than IZ*ONE‘s in second place and eight times higher than BLACKPINK’s in third place.
Top 3 best-selling debut albums by a girl group on the first day of sales:
1. Savage – aespa: 147.195
2. COLOR*IZ – IZ*ONE: 34,295

On the other hand, Savage is still doing very well in the digital music charts. As of 12 p.m on October 6 (KST), Savage ranked #1 on Genie and Bugs, and #2 on MelOn and FLO. As can be seen, Savage is already very close to achieving Realtime All-kill. Previously, aespa set a record as Savage is the song with the highest debut ranking since the reform of the MelOn chart.
Currently, MV Savage has reached 25 million views, 1.4 million likes on YouTube after 22 hours of release.
