Actors shared their thoughts on kiss scenes: “Do I have to use my tongue?”

Actor Ji Hyun-woo and actress Lee Se-hee shared the behind-the-scene story of their kiss scenes.

KBS-2TV’s “Problem Child in House” latest episode, which aired on Oct 12th, featured Ji Hyun-woo and Lee Se-hee, the main characters of the weekend drama “Young Lady and Gentleman.

On this day, Ji Hyun-woo picked the drama “My Sweet Seoul” as his most romantic kiss scene.

Ji Hyun-woo, who filmed a kiss scene with actress Choi Kang-hee at the time, recalled, “It was a kiss scene on the stairs. I still remember it. It was the first time the director did a drama, so he wanted a lot of this more carefully and realistically.”

He then said that kiss scene tips vary by drama type. “For weekend dramas, there are many viewers who are elderly people, so we did just enough to not make them feel uncomfortable. If it’s a family drama, we do just enough so kids don’t have to be told to bring water when the kiss scene comes out. Our lips just barely touch. Mini-series kiss scenes actually happen a lot. They do it like lovers do,” he said.

Min Kyung-hoon said, “Can you shoot a kiss scene in one take? Honestly, have you ever had any personal feelings during these scenes?”. In response, Ji Hyun-woo said, “Of course, I get nervous when I get immersed in my emotions at that moment,” adding, “If many people are focused on watching me, it doesn’t work well. If I don’t get nervous. I can hear all the sounds. I become very sensitive.”

Actress Lee Se-hee also filmed a kiss scene when she was a rookie, and it said (in the script), “a passionate kiss scene”. She surprised everyone by confessing, “It’s my first time, and I was worried. (I even thought that) Do I have to use my tongue?”

She then said, “My partner was younger than me, and I didn’t want to show that I was kissing for the first time. So I asked secretly. ‘If it’s a passionate kiss scene, do we have to use our tongue?’ I said. My partner was very surprised and confused”, making everyone laugh.
