Actor Choi Jin-hyuk (real name Kim Tae-ho) was arrested by the police while having a drink at an entertainment bar that has illegally operated in violation of the gathering restriction.
According to Yonhap News Agency on Oct 8th, Choi Jin-hyuk was arrested by the police on charges of violating the Infectious Disease Prevention Act while he was at a bar in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul at 8:20 p.m. on Oct 6th.
The bar Choi Jin-hyuk visited is an entertainment facility that is subject to the gathering restrictions in accordance with the fourth stage of social distancing rules applied to the Seoul area, and is completely banned from the business.
At that time, 51 customers and staff, including Choi Jin-hyuk, were reportedly arrested by the police.
Choi Jin-hyuk’s company, G-Tree Creative, explained, “Because he was cautious of drinking outside even before 10 P.M due to the pandemic situation, he was carefully looking for a place to talk quietly and ended up going to a bar recommended by his acquaintance. However, he didn’t know that the bar was illegally operated.”
The company added, “We understand his ignorance of the disease prevention measures is really embarrassing, and we have no excuse for that. He will reflect on himself and never repeat such mistakes again.”
