A new sophisticated technology which allows people to forge as Kpop idols and… film porn!

TWICE, tzuyu, comeback

The shocking news of a new technology made many Kpop fans and people around the world worry about a new threat in the future.

Kpop idols have been famous for their perfect, clean, and bright images. They also try their best to stay away from any scandal in order to focus on musical activities. However, multiple female Kpop idols are facing a new threat that can ruin and humiliate their dignity and nice image. This threat originates from new technology called “Deepfake.”

So, what is “Deepfake?” It’s an extremely sophisticated technological device which can scan the videos and the portraits of a person. Then, this technology combines and superimposes existing images and videos onto source images or videos using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and replaces the details on the face such as the eyes, mouth, etc. All in all, “Deepfake” can attach the face of one person to another in a new video which seems almost genuine. This technology has been around for only slightly more than 1 year; however, many specialists had to speak up to warn everybody against taking advantage of this technology.

The image of Momo was severely tarnished due to a series of fake videos which seem almost real!

Despite the warning, “Deepfake” is still in use for illegal purposes. In the wrong hands, “Deepfake” has become a tool to look identical to a celebrity and produce many pornographic content. With this technology, the porn actresses can turn into female Kpop idols to act in the porn movies, and these videos were uploaded on a lot of adult sites with titles that had the name of the female artists. Some typical victims are Red Velvet, TWICE, SNSD, and IU. Momo (TWICE) is the idol who was forged the most.

Viewers who lacked knowledge of this technology would innocently believe that many Kpop idols have “switch career”. Male idols were also targeted by Deep fake but with a smaller quantity.

The videos have very high resolution and viewers can’t tell the differences even when the camera zooms into the faces of the actresses. These series of pornographies were created to satisfy the sick mentality of some netizens who want to observe the bodies of some celebrities. Despite being strongly condemned, the fake videos are still available on many websites on the Internet.

In the next years, “Deepfake” can continue to develop even faster. It will be very hard to distinguish between the real and the fake videos. Unfortunately, this is a new type of sexual harassment using sophisticated technology that the laws haven’t been able to contain.
