Actress Lee Young-ae has been working steadily and receiving much love for over 30 years since her debut.
Lee Young-ae is known to have debuted in the entertainment industry in 1990 after appearing as Andy Lau’s counterpart in a chocolate CF. She has since gained popularity not only in Korea but also in Asia through works such as “Joint Security Area”, “One Fine Spring Day”, “Lady Vengeance” and “Jewel in the Palace”.
After appearing in a cosmetics advertisement in the past, Lee Young-ae was nicknamed “Oxygen-like woman” and began to attract public attention. She shot as many as 240 commercials, earning fame as the “CF Goddess”.
In particular, Lee Young-ae, who became a hot topic for having whiter skin than white people, said in an interview, “I’ll get sick if I use a lot of cosmetics. These days, I only apply camellia oil and moisturizing cream. I don’t even put on eye cream. I heard it’s better than applying too much. I don’t know if a cosmetics model can say this.”
Meanwhile, Lee Young-ae showed off her unexpected charm as she returned to the small screen after 4 years with the drama “Inspector Koo” in November last year. “Inspector Koo”, which was released through JTBC and the OTT service Netflix, drew so much attention that it topped Netflix’s popular chart at the time of its release.
