98 participants of “Boys Planet” started training camp, competition for debut begins

The male version of “Girls Planet 999”, “Boys Planet”, has begun filming in earnest.

According to an E-Daily coverage on December 6th, 98 participants of Mnet’s new boy group survival program “Boys Planet” have gathered at a location in Paju, Gyeonggi-do, to move into a training camp. From this day onwards, the participants will stay together for the filming of the program. As a result, attention is being drawn to what kind of fierce competition will happen and which gems will qualify for the final debut.

“Boys Planet” is the male version of “Girls Planet 999”, which aired last year and created the girl group Kep1er. This time, it will depict the selection process of a boy group.

They also added, “There are a total of 229 participating management companies, and 98 people with rich potential were selected through a total of three in-depth screenings.”

Mnet released a teaser video for “Boys Planet” at the 2022 Mama Awards, which was held at Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan on the 29th and 30th of November, raising the interest of Kpop fans both at home and abroad. “Boys Planet” aims to start broadcasting in February 2023.

Expectations are high that Mnet, which created popular boy groups such as Wanna One and ENHYPEN through survival programs, will once again be able to create new idols who will stand out in the Kpop scene with “Boys Planet”.
