Shin Min Ah, Kim Seon Ho, Kim Yoo Jung, and Ahn Hyo Seop are among the familiar faces that will appear in five new dramas to be aired on Korean television in August.
The Road: The Tragedy of One
Ji Jin Hee, Yoon Se Ah, and Kim Hye Eun star in the drama, which has just been premiered on August 4th. The plot of The Road: The Tragedy of One centres around a neighbourhood known as Royal the Hill, which is home to 1% of Korea’s wealthiest people. Baek Soo Hyeon (Ji Jin Hee), the main character, is a cold, ambitious man who will go to any length to achieve his goals. He is married to Seo Eun Soo (Yoon Se Ah), the daughter of the president of the Jegang corporation, a man of great influence in the political and economic world. On a rainy night, a mysterious accident occurred that gradually revealed the secrets of Royal the Hill.
The Road: The Tragedy of One continues to explore the topic of Korean elites integrated in a murder case. The film promises to bring mind-bending dramas along with suspenseful and intense investigations.
The Second Husband
Second Husband is a passionate romance story. Second Husband is a passionate romance story. It revolves around Bong Seon-hwa (Uhm Hyun Kyung) and her family surrounding a confectionery company. She underwent an unfortunate childhood, but due to her strong and positive personality, she rises up. Growing up in same neighborhood she had a long relationship with Moon Sang Hyeok (Han Ki Woong). But, when she unjustly loses her family due to a tragedy born out of an unstoppable desire, she pledges revenge in the mixed fate and love. But the most unexpected thing is that she falls in love with Yoon Jae Min (Cha Seo Won), the son of the chairman of a rich confectionery company.
The film’s motif isn’t new in Korean dramas, yet it nevertheless appeals to viewers. The success of these types of films has contributed to the audience’s anticipation of The Second Husband when it debuts on August 9.
Police University
Police University is an upcoming South Korean television series directed by Yoo Kwan Mo and starring Cha Tae Hyun; Jung Jin Young; and Krystal Jung.
Yoo Dong Man played by Cha Tae Hyun is a former detective who is now a professor at the Police University. His students are Kang Sun Ho (B1A4 Jin Young), who is a famous hacker; and Oh Kang Hee (Krystal Jung), a passionate freshman. This team of semi-specialized police is caught up in an unexpected incident that occurs on campus.
It is scheduled to premiere on KBS2 on August 9, 2021, and will air on every Monday and Tuesday at 21:30.
Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha
Shin Min Ah returns to the small screen, collaborating with popular actor Kim Seon Ho in the romantic film project Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha. The film revolves around the love story between Yoon Hye Jin (Shin Min Ah), a beautiful female dentist who moves from Seoul to the countryside of Gong Jin to open a dental clinic. Here, she meets Hong Du Sik (Kim Seon Ho), a handsome, chivalrous man who always does errands to help people. Yoon Hye Jin’s life in the countryside has turned in a new direction not as she imagined.
With the presence of two famous main actors, with outstanding beauty, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha attracts the attention of the audience. The movie airs on August 28.
Lovers of the Red Sky
It has been mentioned a lot since the beginning of the year, but at the end of August, the historical drama of Kim Yoo Jung and Ahn Hyo Seop was shown.
Set in the Joseon Dynasty, Lovers of the Red Sky revolves around the romance between female painter Hong Chun Gi and astrologer Ha Ram. Hong Chun Gi was the only female painter of the dynasty, born blind but somehow regained her sight. Meanwhile, Ha Ram can’t see anything, but he can still read the star map. The meeting changed the fates of the two.
The first images of the film reveal Kim Yoo Jung’s pure and innocent image like when she was a child star of the Moon embracing the sun. The male lead Ahn Hye Seop also has a makeover in the new movie, bringing a more masculine and angular image.
