Looking pretty in modern stylings, but when wearing the traditional hanbok, the following actresses’ visuals are somehow “downgraded”. Their acting is also deemed unsuitable for this genre, so these actresses all receive mixed reactions in the period K-dramas they star in.
1. Hyeri (Girl’s Day)

However, Hyeri has a slightly bulging forehead, so when she pulls all her hair up, her facial flaws will be revealed. Plus her overly wide-eyed expressions reduce the charm of a girl who comes from a noble family in the late Joseon era.

The star of “200 Pounds Beauty” once shared in an interview that she is rarely offered to star in historical dramas because her look is not suitable for wearing hanbok. Despite being aware of that, in Live Up To Your Name, Kim Ah Joong still acted in scenes with the historical setting and it was true that she did not match.

The image of Apink‘s visual member when she appeared in the historical drama “The Great Seer” came as a shock to the viewers because she looked completely different from her usual pretty appearance. With barely any makeup on, Naeun looked pale and her face seemed bigger because of the hairstyle.

“Romcom queen” Seo Hyun Jin once sparked negative reactions for her look in historical dramas. Most of the viewers thought that Seo Hyun Jin‘s modern aura is not a good fit for dramas set in a past time period.
