Check out the attractive Korean series of 2021 that you may have missed.
2021 was a rather exciting and bustling year for Korean television as viewers were able to enjoy a series of attractive works. Aside from blockbusters like Squid Game, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, Vincenzo, the Korean film industry also had high-quality dramas that were not in the spotlight.
1. Our Beloved Summer
Our Beloved Summer – one of the hottest Korean series at the moment – owns an unimpressive rating of only about 3% on average. However, this work is “an antidote to the soul” for many young viewers thanks to its “clean” plot revolving around Choi Woong (Choi Woo Sik) and Yeon Soo (Kim Da Mi), ex-lovers who broke up with a promise to never meet again.
2. Work Later, Drink Now
The most worth-watching slice of life drama at the moment must be Work Later, Drink Now. This 18+ movie causes a fever not because of hot or violent scenes but due to its familiar content and lines. Work Later, Drink Now tells the story of three women whose belief in life is one drink at the end of the day.
3. You Are My Spring
Although the drama is almost perfect from the healing storyline to the cast who often guarantee high ratings like Seo Hyun Jin and Kim Dong Wook, You Are My Spring somehow could not achieve the expected commercial success. Not only depicting a love story, You Are My Spring also conveys life lessons, especially about the mental health of young people.
4. She Would Never Know
Adapted from the popular webtoon, She Would Never Know centers on the office romance between Yoon Song Ah (Won Jin Ah) and junior Chae Hyung Seung (Rowoon). Set in the ordinary office, but this K-drama is not toxic or filled with dramas. It simply portrays the lives of office workers in an enjoyable and comforting way instead.
5. Reflection Of You
Despite having an exciting makjang plot and a talented cast including Go Hyun Jung, Shin Hyun Bin, Reflection Of You is not very well-known internationally. The series revolves around Jung Hee Joo (Go Hyung Jung), a poor woman who changes her life by marrying a rich husband. But her life takes a turn for the worse when Hee Joo has an affair with the fiancé of a close friend. Things only start to get more serious from here.
