Surprised that 4 Korean actors have been criticized for being ugly, look at Kim Soo Hyun – Lee Jong Suk, have you regretted it now?

Having received a lot of criticism from the time of his debut, few would have thought that the series of male Korean actors below have all become “kings” of the screen.

Few people know that before the current popularity, these actors had to suffer many criticisms because of their poor appearance. However, now that they are all very successful with their acting careers, do the antifans regret it when they see the “oppa” rising up like this?

1. Kim Soo Hyun

It can be said that ‘Dream High’ is the stepping stone to bring Kim Soo Hyun‘s name to stardom. However, at that time, the male actor’s appearance was not very loved by the public. Therefore, no one thought that he would have great success with TV and movie projects in the future. However, at present, Kim Soo Hyun is known as the “rating king” of Korean films. Because the blockbusters ‘The Moon Embracing the Sun’ and ‘My Love From The Star’ are both movies with the highest ratings in Korean film history. Most recently, Kim Soo Hyun’s blockbuster “It’s Okay To Not Be Okay” was also honored to become the 3rd Korean film to be nominated at the International Emmy Awards.

2. Lee Jong Suk

Lee Jong Suk was a model before becoming an actor. His appearance prior to his debut, however, was not as appealing as it is now. Even in ‘Secret Garden’, his image did not leave a lasting impression on the audience. Lee Jong Suk’s acting career took off after the blockbuster ‘I Hear Your Voice’, after years of hard work. Lee Jong Suk is now one of Korea’s most well-known actors thanks to a series of films including ‘Pinocchio’, ‘Two Worlds’, ‘When She Sleeps’, and more.

3. Ryu Jun Yeol

Ryu Jun Yeol debuted at a later age than his co-stars, at the age of 26. If director Shin Won Ho had not chosen Ryu Jun Yeol for ‘Reply 1988’, it would be difficult for the audience to notice him. Fortunately, the actor’s name skyrocketed in the film industry following the success of ‘Reply 1988’. The national blockbuster ‘A Taxi Driver’, starring Ryu Jun Yeol, sold over 12 million tickets and ranks 10th among the best Korean movies of all time.

4. Kim Woo Bin

Kim Woo Bin, like his close friend Lee Jong Suk, used to be a model. However, Kim Woo Bin’s appearance was also a source of debate for a time. Despite having previously appeared in the school blockbuster ‘School 2013’, Kim Woo Bin’s name did not rise to prominence until ‘The Heirs’. Kim Woo Bin is not very prominent in the drama segment, but he appears to be very successful in the movie segment, in which ‘Friend’, ‘Twenty’, and ‘Master’ have all achieved many good achievements.
