Many viewers are looking forward to the ending of JTBC’s popular Sat-Sun drama “Doctor Cha”, which has only two episodes.
“Doctor Cha” is a drama about the struggles of Cha Jung Sook (Uhm Jung Hwa), who becomes a first-year medical resident after being a housewife for 20 years.
With the last two episodes airing on the 3rd and 4th of June, the drama is at its climax with Cha Jung Sook facing the situation where she has to undergo another liver transplant due to her sudden health deterioration.
#1 Cha Jung Sook’s choice
In the preview for episode 15, both Roy Kim (Min Woo Hyuk) and Cha Jung Sook’s husband Seo in Ho (Kim Byung Chul) were revealed to be potential organ donors. Therefore, attention is focused on whose liver Cha Jung Sook would choose to receive.
Cha Jung Sook is filing for a divorce from her husband Seo In Ho and has been rejecting Roy Kim’s affection. Her decision on the liver to receive can expand the love line story into either Jung Sook & Roy or Jung Sook & InHo, raising viewers’ curiosity.
#2 Choi Seung Hee’s choice
Another important point to watch is the choice of Choi Seung Hee (Myung Se Bin), who has been in a love affair with Seo In Ho for a long time. On the verge of divorce, Seo In Ho has been going all-in to change Cha Jung Sook’s mind and stop the divorce. However, Choi Seung Hee declared that she would “wait” in order to create a complete family for her daughter Eun Seo (So A Rin).
However, there was a change in Choi Seung Hee’s mindset after she read the letter while treating Cha Jeong Sook’s mother Oh Deok Rye (Kim Mi Kyung). She also suggested that Eun Seo returns to the U.S. together with her, showing signs of letting go of her lingering feelings for Seo In Ho. As such, Choi Seung Hee’s choice is also arousing as much interest as Cha Jung Sook’s ending.
#3 Viewers’ choice
Lastly, it’s the viewers’ choice. “Doctor Cha,” which is skyrocketing in popularity, started at 4.9% in the first episode then soared to reach its peak rating of 18.5%. The drama has achieved the highest viewership record for JTBC dramas this year and even ranks 4th in the all-time rating chart of this channel. The last goal is to surpass 20%.
Viral dramas often achieve their highest viewership ratings in the final episode. The question now is whether “Doctor Cha Jung-sook” will achieve its highest viewership rating in episode 16 and fulfill the actors’ hopes of surpassing the 20%. The result relies on viewers’ choices this weekend.
JTBC’s “Doctor Cha” will air episodes 15 and 16 (final episode) at 10:30 p.m. on June 3rd – 4th.
