A week is left before the date of enlistment in the military of Seungri who has faced the charges of embezzlement and sex trafficking.
In March, Seungri submitted a “Request for Enlistment Delay” to the Military Manpower Administration, saying, “If I’m granted the permission, I’ll postpone my enlistment date and show you my sincere attitude during the investigation until the last minute.”
The Military Manpower Administration confirmed a three month delay, considering the fact that Seungri submitted the application for the deferral to investigate and that the investigation agency requested a delay.
As a result, Seungri’s entry day has been postponed until June 24.
Seungri, who is 29 this year, can apply for four additional delays if necessary until next year when he turns 30. However, if he apply again for a delay due to the ‘other unavoidable reasons’ like the previous application, he can postpone only once.
In case of additional enlistment, he must submit the application form to the Seoul Military Manpower Administration five days before joining the army in order to be approved. Public attention is focusing on whether Seungri will postpone his enlistment again or not.
