The reason why IVE’s Wonyoung often draws criticism: Lacking skills or netizens’ jealousy? 

Once again, IVE’s Wonyoung made netizens enter a heated debate.

Recently, a netizen on Pann Nate blew up the controversy in the online community for speaking up in defense of IVE’s Wonyoung, the most popular yet controversial female rookie idol in Kpop. OP thinks that the center of IVE is receiving too much unreasonable criticism, not commensurate with the efforts to improve herself that she showed in this 2nd debut.

Regarding her skills such as dancing and singing, OP commented that Wonyoung has improved quite a lot. She doesn’t sing as weakly as when she was active with IZ*ONE. She has also shown a clear effort in controlling her fluidity while dancing, not as stiff as when she competed in Produce 48.

Regarding the role in IVE, OP assessed that Wonyoung fulfilled her role. She is a visual and is doing a great job. Just a few days after debuting, she rose to the top of Kpop 4th generation thanks to her youthful and mesmerizing visuals, bringing IVE’s popularity to a new level. It is nonsense to ask a member in charge of visuals to show skills on par with main dancers or main vocalists. OP feels that netizens have always been too strict with Wonyoung.

Most comments acknowledge Wonyoung’s efforts to improve her image and agree that she is getting unwarranted hate because she is simply too… young and pretty, and is hands down one of the most outstanding 4th generation female idols at the moment.
