Actress Song Ha-yoon's school violence controversy has reignited
On April 22nd, a post titled “I am a victim of Song Ha-yoon’s school violence” was published on online communities. The author, A, introduced himself as the male junior who was a victim of Song Ha-yoon’s school violence and claimed, “I only hoped for a sincere apology, but both the agency and Song Ha-yoon responded shamelessly.”
A stated, “I am currently residing in the United States. I came across the drama ‘Marry My Husband’ just a month ago. While watching YouTube shorts, I came to know Song Ha-yoon, whose name was unfamiliar but her face and voice were familiar. She was the older sister who called me out during lunchtime, held me and beat me up for 90 minutes in high school.“
He continued, “I suffered from her violence until she transferred to another school, and after she transferred, I had no interest in how she lived. However, watching YouTube shorts, those memories vividly came back, and I broke out in a cold sweat on my hands and back. I was angry watching her behave differently on TV from her past actions.”
He recalled, “The first thing I did was send a DM to Song Ha-yoon’s Instagram with the intention of forgiving her if she remembered and apologized, but received no response.”
A said, “Since Song Ha-yoon did not respond, I also sent a DM to her agency, and when there was no response, I sent an email. Only after sending the third email did I receive a reply saying ‘We want to hear specific details’, so we had a detailed phone call for about two hours.”
He explained “I conveyed to the agency ‘If I hear a sincere apology and the reason for the assault directly from the person involved, I will remain silent’, but the agency told me, ‘We cannot contact the person involved. Let’s meet first.’ The person involved hid behind the company, and there was no apology“, providing screenshots of messenger conversations.
A concluded, “A week has passed since the last broadcast. People never change. If you are considering legal action, I have no intention of reaching an agreement no matter what happens, so don’t even have a glimmer of hope. I might become an old rumor of this sister. It’s not over yet.”
Song Ha-yoon was embroiled in suspicions of school violence through the January 1st broadcast of JTBC’s “Scandal Supervisor”. At the time, her agency King Kong by Starship stated, “After confirming the facts with the actress, we have confirmed that there is no acquaintance with the informant and that all the contents are not true.“
