RM Expresses Feelings On BTS’s 11th Debut Anniversary, “I Once Again Realized Where I Need To Return To”

On June 15th, RM posted on Weverse, saying “Not long ago, we celebrated our 11th anniversary, but I couldn’t even leave a short message with the excuse that I was too busy”.

He continued, “Come Back To Me was released a month ago and so did RPWP 3 weeks ago. In April last year, I postponed the plan to enlist with Ho-seok and ended up joining the younger siblings to enter the army. I spent 23 years drinking and working. I envy my friends who already become sergeants, but I have no regrets”, adding “I guess I was able to tell you the feelings I have hidden for the first time. There are many things I wanted to say and I’ve poured them all in this album. It’s an album in which I tried to be honest with myself. I hope you can listen to it and look at it over and over again for a long time”.

RM confessed, “Three days ago, Jin was finally discharged from the military. I even brought my saxophone to have something fun, but somehow, I felt complicated. I realized that he must have been so lonely and tired as the first person to enlist. What was it like? The period of one year and six months treats everyone fairly. We are probably experiencing the past that he (Jin) has been through”.

He added, “Everyone is doing well regardless of my absence. Life still goes on like that. It felt a little bit empty, but above all, it was nice to get together with the members to have a drink and talk sincerely to each other after a long time. It’s been 10 months since we did things like this, I guess. Why did I miss these people so much? I actually called them very often to ask how they had been doing”.

RM shared, “Jin used to say this all the time, ‘I miss the members so much. I know you guys feel the same’. Living in Gangwon-do, I understand his words more deeply. Seeing him again and talking to him, I realized the meaning of his words. I once again realized that everything remains unchanged, the place where I need to return to and the the person I am. It was such a meaningful time for all of us”.

He continued, “Where else will we be wandering? How will we look like on our 12th anniversary next year?”, adding “It’s already been 11 years. We just need to count one more year. First of all, I entrust things in the future to Jin, who already returned to the arms of fans, and Hobi, who will be returning soon”.

Lastly, he said, “I just realized that we’re not forgotten as many people are still waiting and loving us. Your love is overflowing. As always, I’ll think about the members and you guys to continue doing fine every day”.

BTS’s oldest member Jin recently returned to fans after completing his military service on June 12th. All the members gathered to celebrate Jin’s discharge. The following day, Jin decided to greet ARMYs with his first official schedule after discharge. Following Jin, J-Hope will also be discharged in October. BTS’s activities as a full team are expected to take place in June 2025.
