Park Sung-hoon Apologizes To Viewers For His Evil Character In “Queen Of Tears”

Park Sung-hoon drew attention with his apology in the thank-you letter as “Queen of Tears” surpassed 20% rating

On April 24th, tvN Drama’s official SNS account released a post with the caption, “In celebration of tvN exceeding 20% rating for the first time in four years”.

The released picture shows Kim Soo-hyun, Kim Ji-won, Park Sung-hoon, Kwak Dong-yeon and Lee Joo-bin taking proof shots to celebrate the 20% viewership milestone. Holding balloons with the number 20, the actors also left messages to thank viewers.

Among the cast, Park Sung-hoon said, “20% viewership! Thank you so much for your love. Also,… I’m sorry”, drawing laughter with his sudden apology. 

Park Sung-hoon portrayed villain Yoon Eun-sung, whose misdeeds have reached the peak of evilness in recent episodes. The actor apologized for causing frustration to viewers who are overly immersed in the drama with his realistic acting and excellent expressions as Yoon Eun-sung.

Meanwhile, “Queen of Tears” depicts the love story of third-generation chaebol Hong Hae-in (Kim Ji-won) and her husband Baek Hyun-woo (Kim Soo-hyun) as they face a crisis in the third year of their marriage. The recent broadcast of episode 14 recorded the highest rating of 21.6%. Surpassing “Goblin” with a rating peak of 20.7%, “Queen of Tears” is so close to becoming the highest-rating drama in tvN history.
