Lee Seung-gi’s Agency “Father-in-law’s Stock Manipulation Acquittal Overturned and Remanded, Please Leave Family Out of This”
Singer-actor Lee Seung-gi's side issued a statement regarding his father-in-law
On June 16th, Big Planet Made released a statement saying, “The Supreme Court recently remanded the case involving Lee Seung-gi’s father-in-law A, who was accused of stock manipulation in 2016. We earnestly request that, for the sake of Lee Seung-gi, who is contemplating how to get closer to his fans as he celebrates his 20th debut anniversary as an artist, his family be left out of this.”
The statement continued, “Lee Seung-gi is now a responsible head of a household, a husband, a father of a child and a son-in-law. His father-in-law and mother-in-law have also become grandparents to a new life. This issue pertains to matters before Lee Seung-gi’s marriage and is a problem for the family to resolve. As Lee Seung-gi starts anew with Big Planet Made Entertainment, he is more determined and motivated than ever.“
Big Planet Made added, “We reiterate that we will take stronger legal actions against fake news and malicious defamatory comments about Lee Seung-gi and his family.”
Recently, according to legal circles, the Supreme Court’s third division overturned the lower court’s acquittal of A and co-operator B, along with two others who were charged with violating the Capital Market Act. The case has been sent back to the Seoul High Court. A and others were accused of artificially inflating stock prices of a KOSDAQ-listed company between November 2014 and February 2016 then selling the shares obtained through a recapitalization, earning a profit of about 2.37 billion won.
