LE SSERAFIM’s Hong Eunchae shed tears at Kim Yeon-ja’s advice “You just need to fill what’s lacking” 

On June 13th, the KBS Kpop channel’s “Eunchae’s Star Diary” featured singer Kim Yeon-ja as a guest.

During the episode, Hong Eunchae read questions from fans about Kim Yeon-ja. One fan wrote, “Kim Yeon-ja, first of all, congratulations on your 50th debut anniversary. You debuted at a young age and became very successful in Japan as well. You have a lot in common with Eunchae, so please give Eunchae, a 3-year baby chick, some good words or warm advice that will touch her heart as a senior in the music industry and a senior in life. And on behalf of our countless fans who just want to give Eunchae love, please hug her for 30 seconds. We really want to hug Eunchae, but we can’t.“

Hong Eunchae was touched by the fan’s requests, saying, “I’m so touched that you left a question like this, FEARNOT (fandom name).” Seeing this, Kim Yeon-ja envied, “I’m jealous that you’re loved like this by fans. It’s because you gave them that much love. There is absolutely no one-way traffic.“

Kim Yeon-ja then offered her advice, “From what I saw, Eunchae… You dance and sing so well. I think it would be good to do anything with confidence. Now, it’s done enough and you’re on way better position when I was young. I’ve been through a lot. You’re loved by fans and your members… Isn’t it the best thing? I think Eunchae will have very good paths ahead.”

Kim Yeon-ja then hugged Hong Eunchae, saying, “I will convey the love of all the fans to you.”

At this, Hong Eunchae started to cry. Kim Yeon-ja comforted her, “You’re really a great person I’ve ever met. Cry when you want to cry! When you want to be angry, get angry. That’s a good thing because it all affects the song… You know your shortcomings better than anyone else… You can improve those things, you know… I want to tell you this, even at this age, there are always worries. From time to time, you can fill in the gaps by asking yourself, ‘What am I lacking?’“

According to LE SSERAFIM’s agency Source Music, the group has recently been dealing with severe malicious posts.

On June 7th, the agency shared the ongoing investigation status of malicious posts and comments targeting LE SSERAFIM. They stated, “We compiled a large amount of posts and comments and submitted complaints to investigative agencies for charges such as insult, defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act, and sexual harassment under the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes. We continue to monitor and collect evidence. All forms of malicious slander, false information, personal attacks, derogatory terms, and crude comments are included in the legal actions.“

Fans expressed their support for Hong Eunchae, who is going through a tough time, by leaving comments such as “Remember that people who support Eunchae are always hugging her in their hearts and offering comfort“, “It’s heartwarming to hear that she received such good advice from a senior” and “Thank you so much to Yeon-ja for the warm hug and sincere advice for Eunchae.”
