Kyuhyun “I Almost Died in a Car Accident + All My Ribs Were Broken, and I Was in a Coma for 4 Days”

On June 21st, a video titled “Namu Wiki Episode 2 | ep.8” was uploaded on the YouTube channel “KYUHYUN”.

In the video, Kyuhyun read and fact-checked his profile on the information site “Namu Wiki”.

Kyuhyun, who appeared in the 2016 web drama “Bong Soon: A Cyborg in Love”, recalled, “I’ve never done movies or dramas with the thought, ‘I’ll work hard at what I’ve been doing without being greedy for more.’ I was told to try doing a web drama because it wouldn’t be burdensome, so I took acting lessons.”

Kyuhyun added, “Acting was easier than I thought, which might be why the result was what it was. If it feels easy, it probably means it’s not going well.”

Kyuhyun also recalled the car accident he had in April 2007, when he was returning to his dorm after a schedule and the vehicle overturned. In 2012, Siwon mentioned on MBC’s “Radio Star”, “He almost died.”

Kyuhyun said, “I almost died. It’s not an exaggeration for sympathy; I really had all my ribs broken and was in a coma for 4 days. When I woke up, I was in a hospital room. They said three days had passed. The doctor said I was going to die. They were going to cut my throat, but instead, they cut the sides of my chest to try to save me.”

Although rehabilitation usually takes more than a year, Kyuhyun resumed activities about half a year after the accident. He confessed, “I wasn’t in a condition to do it, but I forced myself because I felt that if I wasn’t there for the second album, it wouldn’t feel like Super Junior.”
