ILLIT to Attend Major Chinese Music Festival for the First Time Since Debut

On the 19th, ILLIT shared a poster of themselves on their official Weibo for the ‘2024 TMEA 5th Tencent Music Entertainment Awards.’

The ‘5th TMEA 2024,’ organized by Tencent Music Entertainment, which owns China’s largest music platform QQ Music, is a music festival and award ceremony taking place from July 19th to 21st at the Galaxy Arena in Macau. ILLIT will attend the festival on the first day, July 19th, and perform a solo stage.

Since their debut on March 25th, ILLIT has achieved remarkable success on major global charts and has also made a significant impact in the Chinese market. All tracks from their debut album ‘SUPER REAL ME’ ranked in the ‘Top 10’ on six QQ Music charts (New Songs, Rising, Hot Trends, Trend Index, Music Index, Hot Songs).

The title track ‘Magnetic’ topped the real-time new song chart on QQ Music just two hours after its release and swept the daily rising chart and trend index chart the next day. The song subsequently topped the daily new song chart and ranked 2nd on the latest ‘Hot Songs’ chart (as of March 29), one of QQ Music’s main ‘Top 300’ charts.

ILLIT has set various records not only in China but also in the US, UK, and Japan, creating a whirlwind of popularity. ‘Magnetic’ became the first K-pop debut song to enter the US Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Official Singles Top 100. Additionally, ‘SUPER REAL ME’ entered the Billboard 200 at number 93 (as of May 11). Furthermore, ILLIT set a milestone with ‘Magnetic,’ becoming the fastest female group to surpass 100 million streams on the Oricon weekly streaming ranking.
