Girls’ Generation “Marijuana Photos” Suddenly Went Viral
Images of girl group Girls’ Generation taken with marijuana are once again making their way around SNS platforms.
Recently, aespa became honorary ambassadors for Incheon International Airport, a part of a collaboration between the airport and SM Entertainment. Prior to that, NewJeans became the Incheon Airport Headquarters Customs’ ambassador for public relations.
However, before these 2 groups, it was Girls’ Generation that represented the Incheon Airport, serving as the “face of Korea”, welcoming travelers when they first arrived in the nation.
Additionally, unlike NewJeans and aespa, Girls’ Generation’s ambassadorship did not end with a photoshoot. Instead, the group got to experience the activities of customs workers directly.
Particularly, one job of airport customs is to check for illegal items such as prohibited food, weapons, and drugs, leading to a rather “iconic” situation with Girls’ Generation, where members can be seen holding bags of what appears to be marijuana.
With the recent news of aespa, the “marijuana photos” of Girls’ Generation have resurfaced, shocking many fans who just learned of these images’ existence. Some even joke about how funny it would be if aespa “recreate” the photos.
