“Despicable Me 4” To Have Special Collaboration With BTS, “There Are Minion Characters of BTS”
The 4th movie of “Despicable Me”, which ranks No.1 at the box office, has also announced a collaboration with global group BTS
The collaboration is a mega global project of Illumination, Universal Product and Experience, and Big Hit Music to commemorate the premiere of “Despicable Me 4” and the new appearance of the character Papi, an aspiring villain and an ARMY who loves BTS.
Along with the launching of the limited product capsule collection in Los Angeles, Seoul and Tokyo, “BTS ♥ Despicable Me 4” pop-up stores will be opened in these cities based on collaborative artworks inspired by the iconic costumes of BTS’s 2021 single “Permission to Dance”.
In North America, the limited product capsule collection with various categories including clothing and accessories like t-shirts, hoodies, sweatpants and tote bags, can be pre-ordered online from June 19th to July 1st on US Weverse Shop. The collection will have minion characters of BTS members. The collaboration products will also be available at “BTS ♥ Despicable Me 4” pop-up stores in Los Angeles, Seoul, and Tokyo, as well as the US fashion retailer Nordstrom and the online & offline stores of Urban Outfitters. Above all, the sale of “Funko Pop!” set will be available for pre-order starting June 21st.
In addition, the pop-up stores will feature an experience zone under the theme of the character Papi and BTS minion characters for fans.
