BTS’s Jin to be Discharged Today (June 12th) “BTS’s First Member to Finish Military Duty”

BTS's oldest member Jin is set to be discharged from the military after about 18 months of service

Jin, who enlisted in December 2022, served as an assistant instructor at the 5th Infantry Division’s recruit training center in Yeoncheon County, Gyeonggi Province.

During his service, Jin demonstrated exemplary conduct and was selected as an outstanding soldier, receiving an early promotion to Corporal.

BTS’s Jin is expected to leave the military unit around 8 AM on June 12th.

His agency Big Hit Music requested fans to refrain from visiting the site on Jin’s discharge day.

Despite this, some fans have already displayed various banners in front of the unit to warmly welcome Jin’s return.

A significant number of police and fire personnel have also been deployed.

International media, including outlets from Japan, have arrived on-site to cover Jin’s discharge.

Jin is the first BTS member to complete his military service.

J-Hope is set to be discharged in October, marking the second BTS member to finish his service.

The remaining members are still serving.

Jin plans to attend the “2024 Festa” event at the Jamsil Arena in Seoul on the day after his discharge, June 13th, to meet fans.

Meanwhile, Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon also congratulated Jin on his discharge, praising BTS members for serving as active-duty soldiers without any privileges or exceptions, setting an example for others.

With Jin’s discharge, the process of the team’s return to activities is expected to gain momentum.
