BLACKPINK’s Rosé Reportedly Moves To Teddy’s Agency The Black Label, “Still In Discussion”

BLACKPINK member Rosé is expected to start anew as a solo artist with producer Teddy under The Black Label

According to Newsen on June 17th, Rosé will move to The Black Label, a music label founded by music producer Teddy.

The Black Label is an entertainment company founded by Teddy, known as a producer and a member of YG Entertainment’s group 1TYM, in 2016. The agency is currently managing BIGBANG’s Taeyang, solo singers Jeon So-mi, Zion.T as well as actors Park Bo-gum and Lee Jong-won.

Rosé and Teddy have been doing music activities together for about 10 years under YG. Teddy produced most of BLACKPINK’s hit songs, including the group’s debut singles “Whistle” and “BOOMBAYAH” in 2016.

Rosé’s group BLACKPINK also mentioned Teddy in the 2020 Netflix documentary “BLACKPINK: Light Up The Sky”, saying “He’s a producer who listens to our story well, creates new directions and always leads us in good directions. He’s like the fifth member of BLACKPINK in our heart”.

In this regard, The Black Label told OSEN that the contract was still in discussion.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK successfully wrapped up their world tour ‘BORN PINK’ with 1.8 million audiences last year. After that, they performed in front of a lot of people at the Coachella Festival in the US and Hyde Park Festival in the UK as the first Asian headliners.

At the end of last year, the group decided to take on a new activity strategy. The four members agreed to do group promotions under YG as usual and carry out solo activities separately. Except for Rosé, Jennie, Lisa and Jisoo have established private labels for their individual activities. Jennie set up ODD ATELIER in December while Lisa introduced LLOUD in February this year. With the support of her brother, Jisoo also established BLISSOO in February.
