In response to the criticism, BLACKPINK fans defended Jennie and Rosé, saying the bodyguard was only fulfilling their duty of protecting the two members. Some people also pointed out the controversy as unreasonable because it is common for bodyguards to hold umbrellas for celebrities not only in Korea but also around the world.
