Actress Yoo Hye-ri recently appeared on a talk show and disclosed the real reason why she divorced Lee Geun-hee
On June 20th, Wikitree released an article about actress Yoo Hye-ri mentioning her failed marriage with ex-husband Lee Geun-hee on an MBN talk show. On the broadcast, Yoo Hye-ri revealed the shocking reason she decided to divorce Lee Geun-hee.
According to the actress, she was determined to end the marriage after her ex-husband threatened her with a knife during their honeymoon. Yoo Hye-ri said, “We had a fight during our honeymoon. I was cooking, and after quarreling for a while, Lee Geun-hee left to drink alcohol. Later, he suddenly came to the sink and took the knife then stabbed it on the table. Seeing that, I was very angry and scared”.
The actress added that Lee Geun-hee often picked up fights with other people without any reason. She shared, “We came to meet a friend and I didn’t know why he was so annoyed that day. After drinking a lot, he suddenly threw a chair at a woman passing by. Everyone was very shocked and tried to stop him”.
When announcing their divorce in 1998, Yoo Hye-ri and Lee Geun-hee stated “differences in personalities” as the reason. It turns out that the actress has been hiding the real cause of their divorce for 25 years. In a recent talk show, she said, “I’ve never told this to my family, colleagues, and even my close friends”.
Born in 1963, Yoo Hye-ri debuted at the age of 21. She became famous after starring in “My Lovely Family”, “Miss Mermaid”, “You Are My Destiny”, “Love Rain”, etc. Lee Geun-hee was born in 1960 and he is known for the hit drama “Love Story in Havard”.
Yoo Hye-ri and Lee Geun-hee got to know each other after working together in a theater play. Despite opposition from her friends and family, Yoo Hye-ri insisted on marrying Lee Geun-hee in 1994. However, their marriage didn’t last long and they officially parted ways after 4 years.
